DC Green Festival a Huge Success!

Over 17,000 people attended the second annual Green Festival DC on September 24-25 featuring 125 speakers and 325 exhibitors. The largest DC Green Festival yet and the feedback has been fantastic.

Over 520 volunteers worked the entire weekend to compost, recover and recycle 83% of all waste that was generated at the show – the best ever! Over 1,000 metric tons of carbon was offset through Terrapass while investing in a wind farm in Pennlysvania. The bike valet parked over 500 bikes and organizer called it the largest bike valet in the history of the city.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


ABOVE: TS Designs staff travels to the Green Festival in a SVO (Straight Vegetable Oil) bus they borrowed from CABN member Larry’s Beans . According to Eric Henry, "The entire trip from North Carolina to DC used ZERO petrol!" Many thanks to TS Designs for donating the printing of the Green Festival T-shirts for the third year.
